Presbyopia

Presbyopia is the natural age-related stiffening of the crystalline lens that makes focusing up close harder. It usually shows up after the age of forty, when text has to be held further away.

It is not a disease but a change that affects everyone. It is managed with reading glasses, progressive lenses, or by the choice of intraocular lens during cataract surgery.
