Myopia

Also known as: short-sightedness, near-sightedness

Myopia means distance vision is blurred while near vision is sharp. Light comes to a focus in front of the retina, most often because the eye is slightly longer than its refractive power would suit.

It is corrected with minus-powered lenses, contact lenses, or laser surgery that reduces the curvature of the cornea.
