Multifocal lens

A multifocal lens splits incoming light between several focal points, so the eye sees sharply at more than one distance and dependence on glasses falls.

Because the light is divided, some patients notice rings or glare around lights at night and contrast may be slightly lower. Suitability needs to be assessed individually.
