Hyperopia

Also known as: long-sightedness, far-sightedness

Hyperopia means light comes to a focus behind the retina, usually because the eye is shorter than average. A younger eye can compensate for a long time using its own accommodation, so the first sign is often fatigue during close work.

It is corrected with plus-powered lenses, contact lenses, or a laser procedure.
