Rigid gas permeable lenses
Also known as: RGP lenses, hard lenses
Rigid gas permeable lenses hold their shape and let oxygen through. Because they keep their own form, they can compensate for irregularities of the cornea that soft lenses cannot.
They are used for keratoconus or irregular astigmatism, for instance. Adapting to them usually takes longer than with soft lenses.
