Conjunctiva

The conjunctiva is the thin transparent membrane covering the white of the eye and the inner surface of the eyelids. It contributes to the tear film and protects the ocular surface.

Inflammation of the conjunctiva is among the most common eye complaints, causing redness, burning and discharge.
